how to clean a fish tank
Today is Sunday and this is the time that I should clean my fish tank. I see to it that my fish tanks water is clean and this is done on a regular basis so as to keep my cichlids healthy and vibrant in color.
How to clean a fish tank?
First and foremost cleaning a fish tank is tedious depending on the size of the tank, the number of fishes that dwells in it and the condition of the water.
As for my cleaning regiment, I would first clean the inside of the tank by wiping or scrapping algae using a scrapping pad or a regular towel. Once it is done, I would remove the rocks, artificial plants and the filter as well, putting them in another bucket of water. After the accessories are removed, It is time to get a siphon or vacuum to clean the substrate of the tank, siphoning the feces and uneaten fish foods.
Water change is crucial to any fish tank, the filling of water depends on how frequent you clean your tank and the condition and clarity of the water. Lets say, you clean your tank in a weekly basis so water change is about twenty to thirty percent, but if you clean your tank in a bi-monthly basis most often water change is about forty to sixty percent. The water should be free from chlorine for this may cause poisoning and death to your fish. Thus, water from faucet should be treated or the simplest way is to let it stay over night for chlorine to evaporate before using.
We have cleaned the fish tank within, now it's time to clean the accessories. Remember the The artificial plants, rocks and filter that we have set aside, cleaning this things is as easy as one, two, three. We all know that anything that is submerge in water would most likely or will develop algae as days pass. Thus cleaning them is a must, the rocks must be scrubbed without the use of any soap this goes with the artificial plants. For the filter all you have to do is rinse, again without any soap for soap is lethal to any fish and could cause its death.

beach resort
Its been a while now that I have not unwind. Since weekend is just around the corner, I am planning to spend the day with my friends on the beach.
There is a new beach resort in IGACOS (Island Garden City of Samal), Maxima Aqua Fun Resort. Its name precede its breath taking amenities and its the home of Abyss, a water slide that is more than two hundred feet with a sheer drop to the unknown.
Rumor has it that Abyss will take your heart away literally once you ride it, making you scream like you'd never scream before. Perilous in away every rider has to put on their safety gear to avoid mishap.
A skeptic to its reputation, I'd be the judge to the thrill and excitement that the slide has to offer, but hesitant for I am scared deep within.
Sunday came and everything is prepared for the much awaited day tour. Upon entering the vicinity, I heared ominous screams and shrills that envelops the premises. Pretending not to be affected but deep within my soul is somewhat leaving my mortal body.
Moment came and it's time to conquer my fear, we lined and gear up waiting for our turn to slide, eerie in a way but as we slide sudden burst of scream provokes everyone to sympathized.
The much awaited ride is finally at hand, it's my turn but afraid to hurt myself or worst die in the beach resort, but there's no turning back and no other way to conquer my fear but experience abyss and that's by riding it. I was about to sit down in preparation for my sliding, when suddenly something came out of my mind that tells me to STOP but on the other side a mild whisper that is suggesting to let go of the railings and have the adventure of a lifetime. This is a typical battle of mind and spirit. The body being weak while the spirit is enthusiastic to have fun.
A few seconds more my body was over powered by my spirit and I did let go and the rest was history.
Truly an amazing experience everything was all over in just a matter of seconds. I survived the ride but decided not to have another one. It was really scary. Maxima Aqua Fun Resort, the beach resort that is world class.
For sure me and my friends will be back but no longer sliding abyss, we have had enough and we have conquered our fear.

Olympic 2012 games
A few days ago, I have written an article about the upcoming Olympic 2012 games. I have stated on my article the things that the British government have under went to pave the way for this glamorous event show casing the worlds top class athlete.
Spectators and delegates alike will be flooding the streets of London, but have you ever heared of a person being banned to compete?
For the first time in the annals of Olympic history, Voula Papachristou, a Greek champion in triple jump event was expelled by officials to compete because of being a racist. She had tweeted offensive post against African immigrants saying "with so many Africans in Greece, at least the mosquitoes in West Nile will eat homemade food."
Voula being sanctioned by the Olympic 2012 games organizers because of her arrogant statement also gave apologies to her fellow athletes and fans saying "It was a joke and I don't intend to hurt someones feelings."
Papachristou is a great loss to the delegates of the Greek. But with or without the Greeks champion Olympic 2012 games will commence.

Olympics 2012 is well anticipated by the British government thus revamp of the city was addressed as early as 2011 where new arenas and stadiums were built to house the venue of the games. Transportation system was upgraded to insure spectators to arrived at the venue they prefer the soonest possible time as well as the athletes.

Statue of Joe Paterno
Football is one of the greatest sports in this planet. It has been cheered yelled and even booed upon by many spectators young and old alike for it gives a different rush of adrenaline. From this sport came out a name that stands out among the best and became eventually a well celebrated man, he is Joe Paterno. Joe or joepa as he is commonly known is the head coach of Penn State Nittany Lions for nearly 46 years, from 1966 until 2011.
Joe Paterno, the name that has lead his team to numerous victories is also synonymous to controversy. He was accused of covering sexual abuses and failing to protect children from Jerry Sandusky (assistant coach). His tenure as head coach went down the drain for he was fired.
22nd of July, news came in stating that the statue of Joe Paterno, the land mark in Pennsylvania State University was literally removed for tension that indicated Paterno's involvement was more than just a cover up.
It's such a shame, after all the recognitions that he has achieved, everything went down the drain stripping him to a mere mortal, but his records and being a hall of famer will always be immortalized in the annals of football history.

I was reading the latest news in Hollywood and was shocked that Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith are getting a divorce. I mean its just but natural for Hollywood couples part ways but being married for fifteen years is something. It's like giving almost seventy five percent of your life to your partner, and with a snap of a finger everything is gone.
Getting a divorce is trending, a couple days back was the breakup of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes due to the rumored Scientology belief that started a wild fire in the relationship of the couple.

Christmas is fun in the Philippines
It's July but as I woke up this morning, I was enticed to write an article about Christmas, I don't know why but it's driving me to make one. Maybe it's because of the cold breeze that greeted me or the longingness to received and give gifts to friends and loved ones.
Anyway, Christmas is the time of year were we congregate to one norm and that is to be happy, celebrate life and relived the spirit of sharing.
Celebrating this season differ from every country. In the Philippines, Christmas spirit is felt as early as September, were radio stations lambaste the airwaves with Christmas Carole's. Fire work display is eminent in every street literally fogging the city from the smoke it emits and not to mention the countless injuries brought about by this tradition.
Filipinos love eating. thus, it is a must for any gathering be it simple to elaborate feast that food is flowing and this does not exempt the Yuletide. I can't resist eating lechon( roasted pork), lingua estofado, afritada, sinugbang panga (grilled tuna fish jaw) and the sumptuous kinilaw (sashimi). Other than this, are the wide array of Filipino delicacies that are vibrant in color and very enticing to eat.
Filipinos love to decorate as well, it is an expression of bringing the whole family together and be involved in the transformation of a house. Christmas tree is present and elaborately decorated with its accessories and this goes with a miniature Santa. Christmas songs are played to make the ambiance a step closer to perfection making the household a quarter for merry making.
Simply amazing as I would describe it, theres nothing like this in any part of the world that Christmas is celebrated in such bounty though Philippines is a third world country.

Allergy is relative and may differ from another person.
Most common mild reactions of a physical body from an allergen are redness on the skin or sometimes called hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itchiness and often times sneezing, other than these are severe symptoms such as constricted airways which make the person unable to breathe and could lead to death
Allergies can be brought about by pollen, dust, animal fur, and food. Some people suffer from allergies for a short period of time such as when pollen concentration is high, and this occurs in the months of May and June where flowers bloom. On the other hand, allergic reactions to some people could be a whole year round undertaking.
It is very hard to know if you have an allergy to a substance, the best way is to under go a skin allergy test, usually several pricks are performed on the arm with possible allergens. If the skin is allergic, noticeable redness can be observed.
How to prevent allergies? Though allergy is inevitable, there is one word to combat this and that is avoidance. Avoid contact from pollen when you suspect that pollen trigs your allergy. Avoid eating shellfish and crustaceans for these food group is rich in allergens that trigs allergy.
From my own perspective, since I'm one of the many people suffering from allergy, sinusitis, I see to it that I don't get close or get in contact from substances that entices my allergy. I refrain from going out in my quarters when it is raining so as to avoid colds.When it is dry and humid, I drink plenty of fluids and most often cover my nose to prevent pollen inhalation.

Getting rid of coffee stains, bolt paper towels on the stained area, spray warm water onto it and let it soak for a few minutes. Prepare a mixture of water and liquid detergent, spray the concoction over the stain and rinse by sprinkling water. After doing the process spread a paper towel over the affected area and let it dry.
Ink is the hardest stain to remove, but worry no more for the steps I will reveal to you in eliminating it from the carpet is proven and tested. here are the steps: but first let me show you the thing that you should not be doing. It is a rule never scrub the ink with a brush or anything that will spread the ink further and make the scenario worst. by doing so, it will just aggravate the problem. Just posted a mourning news for country song lovers about Kitty Wells death, and another contributor to the music industry particularly in the group band DEEP PURPLE has also left us at the age of 71 due to pancreatic cancer that his been struggling since August last year, he is Jon Lord, a keyboardist and a co founder of the popular rock group in the 60's. He co-wrote some of the bands song's like smoke in the water and has played his keyboard to other group band like Whitesnake.

I loved listening to country music. It gives me the feeling of being home in my place, Alabama. But one striking news hit the airwaves today, telling that an icon in the country music died at the age of 92 in the name of Kitty Wells due to heart complications and massive heart attack.

Sage Stallone, son Sylvester died at the age of 36
I am a great fan of Sylvester Stallone. I've never missed a single movie that he made for I idolize him as great actor. To name a few of his movies that I loved are: Rocky (sequel), Rambo. These movies hit the movie screens of theatres from all the corners of this planet, making it a blockbuster garnering millions in revenue so to speak.
Recent news from tabloids and reliable newspapers came in today telling that the 36 year old Sage Stallone, son of Sylvester died. The cause of death was not clear, though bottles of medicines were seen in the premises.
Preliminary investigations conducted by police officers ruled that there was no foul play nor it was a suicide. No forcible entries within the domicile of Sage Stallone

Gustav Klimt "The Kiss immortalized in Googles home page
Have you noticed in googles home page browser that every now and then the doodle changes, today it features "the kiss", one of the famous paintings of Gustav Klimt, commemorating his 150th birth anniversary.
Klimt is an Austrian painter. he was born on July 14, 1862, in Vienna and was a son of a goldsmith. Gustav spend much of his time in poverty but luckily, trained in Vienna School of Decorative Arts. He had a liking for expensive materials to inculcate into his art work and some of these are: gold, silver and marble making his art amongst the most expensive in the entire planet.

Spiderman 2012 a movie to watch
I loved reading comics, specially if it's from DC comics and your friendly neighborhood Spiderman. This was before when I was a kid. Now that the story is depicted in the movie, I don't miss a single episode.... Thanks to the 21'st century...
There is a new sequel in the adventures of the young hero and I can't wait to view the movie. As far as I can remember, The villains that spidy had encountered in the previous movies that I viewed were Green Goblin, Black Goblin and Doctor Octopus, The recent one was Doctor Connors,, a scientist who turned into a monstrous lizard. This was brought about by his obsession to regenerate his amputated arm. Thus, he formulated a contraption that would replace it thru the help of Peter Parker who gave him the formula.
The formula was just about perfect, it did regenerate the missing arm but only for a brief moment. Dosage was doubled, tripled making him stronger but turning the scientist into a hideous creature and blinding him from the person that he once was.
Spiderman on the other hand was left with no other option but to stop the scientists madness of turning the whole city of New York into super humans in the image of a lizard.
The graphics and fight scenes were superb.................... The movie was worth watching.

Every human being inhabiting this planet is obsessed with fitness, not a single soul deprives himself from being physically fit, thus, we take food supplements but we are not really sure what it is supplementing. We are very conscious on the carb intake and the fast foods that we grab for our three square meals each day as well as the so-called “extras”. We go to the gym lift some weights and do a thirty minute cardio to burn the undesirable excess luggage, and for those who have a hectic schedule they buy stationary bikes or treadmills which in the long run defeats its purpose and turned out to be a rack for clothes, eliminating the health benefits that we get from the machines that we bought.
The point is we are pretty much preoccupied in getting fit but we loose interest and the enjoyment as we progress.

A few days back I have written an article about Kate Upton being a sex siren and how her career soared by being a bikini model. I molded and depicted her as a young, free-spirited, flirt, liberated young girl who really knows how to flaunt her God-given, curvaceous body. I mean it is really not an issue if men would drool seeing her, but losing a baseball game is another thing.
Detroit Tigers lose their game because of the bad performance of their pitcher, Justin Verlander. It is quite odd for a seasoned pitcher to give up four hits and walk two. Verlander was loved by his fans because of its superb pitching ability and stingy moves on the mound. The Verlander that was once was is not present during the game. He was physically present but mentally in wonderland.
Rumor has it that Kate Upton was the reason for Justin Verlander’s bad performance. Is Roger Federer slowing down? I don’t think so…. Many players upon reaching the age of thirty or in their late thirties has the option to retire and this does not happen to the sport of tennis alone but almost all sports that you could think off. Why is this so? Most often the age bracket that most players are in their prime is between the age of eighteen to twenty seven. This age bracket has the strength and power of a raging bull, mentally focused, can withstand strenuous trainings and has the drive to win which is complimented by its sheer instinctive power. As for Roger, there’s no sign that he is slowing down nor retiring. This is shown in the recent prestigious tournament Wimbledon 2012 where he defeated Andy Murray in the finals 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 leaving the Britons hope in shambles.
Roger Federer has his share of upset and set backs and even a handful of defeat, injury does not exempt the king of tennis and had some severe injuries that made him disappear from the lime light, sinking his name from world rankings.

Traveling nurse a well paid profession
Its been awhile now that I haven’t seen my best friend, It’s about a decade that we parted ways since we last met during our High School years. I went to a business school and took up business administration majoring in management while he on the other hand pursues his study in a medical school and took up nursing. Years pass and we graduated, he went to the United States of America and work in a hospital as a nurse. As for me, I went to Singapore for I was hired as a business executive in a manufacturing firm. Modesty aside, we are both successful in our own field. We are paid more than enough and with regards to the benefits and privileges that our company gives us it is satisfying.
It is a true notion that ”man is never satisfied of what he has”, recently news came to me that my best friend went into a four-month training to be a traveling nurse, though this a new endeavor of his, it is related to his present job. He was compelled to join the training for the pay was three times higher than his present income being an ordinary nurse.
What is a traveling nurse? From the word alone it is self-explanatory, my friend gets to travel from one state to another in a span of three to four months rendering his services in a hospital. In other words, he is still a nurse by profession but does not stay to long in a particular hospital. It’s good for he gets to travel and see different places and all his expenses are well taken cared by his agency. This includes the relocation of his family, transportation fare, the new house, purchase of a new vehicle and the education of their children.
The overall package for a traveling nurse is very tempting to anyone who is seeking for a greener pasture but there is a downside to this undertaking. first, since staying in a particular place is just brief you get to adjust to the community and the place you are moving in. This also goes with your neighbors and co-workers. Second, you can never settle to one place and establish your permanent domicile. Third, the tedious moving of things that goes along with you. This pertains to the furnitures and fixtures, and lastly, kids often times get bored with the continuous mobility and the adjustments they have to make when they go to a new school.
keeping tropical fish can teach your son responsibility
It was my son’s birthday last July one and he turned seven years old, since it was his day I planned of buying him a gift, a gift that he will cherish, keep, nurture and at the same time teach him responsibility.
The gift was buying him a tropical fish. From my own experience and being a kid once, kids are very responsive to animals and they even talk to them. Thus, buying him would be just apt for the occasion.
We went to a local pet shop and look around for a healthy fish to keep, I asked the owner on what type of fish should my son keep? He answered, for a novice it would be better to have an easy to rear pet fish that requires less maintenance and that is a gold-fish. Apprehensive upon hearing the owners selection, I immediately reiterated the option for I kept gold-fish during my childhood years and it gives me discouragement. They are voracious eaters. They won’t stop eating and the tendency would be feeding them all the time to its death. So, I decided to buy a pair of cichlid (green terror).
My son was thought by the owner on the basic things that need to be done everyday from feeding, changing water and cleaning its quarters. He was listening diligently to the instructions given to him and I know he was paying attention to every details that was said to keep the tropical fish healthy and well taken cared of.
The original plan was to buy a fish bowl but persuaded to buy an aquarium instead, for green terrors can grow up to five inches in length. having them in small spaces would deter its growth. Aside from the tank, I also bought filters, gravels for the substrate, lights, plants, aerator, and fish food. The total amount in procuring the new members of the household reach $250.00.
Having the tropical fish in the house, made me witness the transformation of my son being a kid to a little man who is the proud owner and care taker of the fish we bought. Everyday he would see to it that he feeds them before going to school and in late afternoon. Water change is done every weekend as well as the siphoning of substrate and cleaning filters. I let him do the calls and me his assistant to carry his commands.
It was fun having the fish and eventually strengthens further the bond that we had between father and son……..
Civet dung coffee “tastes like heaven comes from hell”
A coffee that tastes good, smells good but comes from the droppings of a cat-like animal.
coffee, coffee, coffee, I really can’t live a day without drinking this beverage. Everyday I would consume five to six cups depending on my craving and would even reach more than ten cups. You may say that I am addicted to this drinking spree, but I don’t think so for I have my limitations. Irony isn’t it.
Last week I was invited by a friend of mine to his house and told me that there’s a new coffee that he wanted me to taste, I was overwhelmed by his invitation and made me somewhat an authority to the taste testing of the said coffee. It was 4:30 in the afternoon when I arrived at his house just in time to consume another cup. For a starter he told me that the coffee came from the remote area of Indonesia, a country in Asia and very expensive. A cup would be sold at $100 in the U.S.. Skeptic in a way, I can’t wait to grab a hold of the beverage and be the judge to its taste. A few minutes later, the elusive coffee is finally at hand. The aroma smells good and it is really different form the usual coffee that is served in coffee shops. I sip a little and let my taste buds go to work.The taste was exquisitely good and exotic in a way for it came from Asia. I drunk all the content and made me crave for more but hesitant to ask another cup.
I asked my friend from what variety of coffee bean was it made? He smiled and answered just from an ordinary coffee tree only it came from the feces(dung) of a Civet(cat-like appearance and native to Asia). I was about to vomit but hold back for I might offend my friend.
Civet dung coffee tastes good but I just can’t imagine drinking it by collecting it’s droppings. It just wont badge into my system and would prefer the coffee bean that is extracted from its branches and not somebody’s waste.
Come to think of it, and just being honest and true to myself, though it’s from the droppings of an animal it really tastes good and the price is complimented by its rich aroma.

I was surfing the net a few days ago before the fourth of July, and I came across with the hottest girl ever to take the center stage as a singer. She is funky, fashionista in her own way, and I think a lot of you will agree with me, that she is the latest girl to depict Barbie and she is Katy Perry.
Who among us would not recognize this talented woman with her antiques and prowess in her singing ability. I mean she can really rock the house down and make the audience raise the roof.
One of her latest singles “firework”, has top the billboard chart for more than two weeks and has a surging current that affects the airwaves of Asia and the rest of the world after its release and not to mention the timely celebration of America’s fourth of July.
Katy Perry is an icon in the pop music and almost everybody, young and old alike are living her style, copying every inch in her body, from the colorful dyed hair down to her elegant and classy pedicure.
19 Years of Boredom
My office is a 45 minute ride from my domicile. Thus, I have to wake up early to elude the busy streets and the traffic jams that causes every employees nightmare which is getting late. This scenario has not change for the past 18 yrs., routinary and some what boring. It’s Monday once again and the process continues, office reports must be submitted, processing customer’s order’s, the ominous tone of the ringing of the phone and eventually answering the other lines complaints and requests.
How I wish It was still Sunday! No one can force me to get up early, I could bask all day long on my bed or watch t.v. and even play the game I loved playing which is loan tennis, go to malls for window shopping, watch movies with friends, It’s really fun and exciting.
Reality hurts and the truth is, it’s another week ahead of performing the duties assigned and only a day(SUNDAY) of rest.
Often times I am compelled to tender my irrevocable resignation for my mind is telling me to do so but hesitant to execute for there are people who depends on me and I myself is pretty much dependent on my work too. If only I have other means of getting income to sustain life and the needs and wants of the people who depends on me.
As I write this article, it came to my mind to venture into a new endeavor which would remove the traffic jams that lingers in my mind and that is the boredom of being enclosed in the four walls of a land base office. I am planing to become a virtual assistant and work in my virtual office which is in my house. I have to opt this for I get to manage my time and be the person I wanted to be and at the same time have time for my growing kids who are missing me a lot. The problem is? where to start and how to start being a virtual assistant for my forte is blogging and being an office employee.
Please help me….. The Life of Borgue
Borgue is a company guard dog. Its breed is 1/2 Rottweiler and 1/2 German Shepherd. During its puppy stage, Borgue is meek, mild and gentle just like any ordinary dog that you can see tag along by its owner in the park. He was trained to obey basic commands like: stay, fetch, and the fancy roll over. He was even further trained to bring his toiletries in his mouth when its time to go to bath. He is the best pet to have during his juvenile years. A very obedient dog indeed but his obedience fades and eventually vanished forever when he reach maturity. This was because every time Borgue is sent to his kennel to rest in the evening employees who are rendering over time would go to his lair and startle his sleep by patting heavily on its closed quarters, others would pour water on his forehead to keep him awake.
Years pass and Borgue turned into a humongous beast, and eventually the office was transferred to a different location due to expansion. A location that is 3 hectares wide with 2 security guards to patrol the premises. A pretty big space for two patrol guards. Thus, Borgue was called for additional assistance. With Borgues’s dark past and bad up bringing there’s no question that his ferocious attitude is just timely for the job. Borgue is very alert at night and would patrol the area just like a security guard would do. Keen sensitive eyes, smell and hearing would simply spell doom to any intruder that would come in be it animal or human alike.
I can remember vividly the incident that happened on the eve of 2008 when a stray dog went inside the premises of the company, It was like watching a great white shark stalking a penguin in a documentary film. Borgue was aiming his site to the dog without blinking or moving a muscle and suddenly dashes to the victim biting its neck and trashing it everywhere, and in a few seconds its over living the body lifeless.
Borgue is truly a killer, but not born to be one. He was taught to be in the wrong way due to the harsh treatment that he had when he was still a puppy.
in my own personal opinion, not one puppy is born fierce though they evolved from the wolves. They do have animal instincts that made their survival astonishing. It’s just that with proper pet rearing you could change it’s temperement and could be the best pet to have and keep.
Gecko Mania in The Philippines for Medicine
Have you seen a Gecko before? In my case I’m living in a tropical country and when we speak of gecko, yes we do have a lot of this lizard like animal in my country Philippines, but seeing it in its natural habitat not a chance.
Recently, an outbreak of this gecko has spread throughout the internet which originated in my place not that they are infesting my country and devastating crops and has become a menace but there are people who wants to buy them live. The price is pretty much high and are as follows 300gms-60,000, 400gms-150.000, 500gms -250,000, 1kl 1,ooo,oool the figure is in Philippine peso which created a gecko-mania, and almost all the people here are looking for this elusive animal. Speculation has it that the price is even higher without the intervention of middlemen.
I’m quite alarmed of this phenomena that has actually derailed the minds of my fellow countrymen to doing their daily routine of earning income in substitute for the search of a gecko. It is very enticing for any person living in the Philippines, which is a third world country to be compelled in this kind of endeavour. I could not blame them for the figures are quite high for an ounce of a gecko. This could fuel their sustenance for a couple of months to a year. Gecko mania spreads like wild fire but the real question is? Is the trading real? for I haven't met a single soul saying that he has been paid for his catch.
As I surfed the internet for answers about the gecko-mania, I’m pretty sure that the animal is not for household pets like any domesticated animals nor for consumption (food) but for its medicinal properties.,that has cure for asthma, skin diseases and the dreaded AIDS.
The shy and timid animal is hunted for its medicinal properties. Its number is dwindling and dwindling very fast due to the destruction of its natural habitat and not to mention the latest craze that would even further diminish their number. This should be stopped and protect this animal from extinction.
