Have you heard about the name Tim Tebow? Thus it sound familiar? Tim is not just an ordinary person that we meet on the street as we go on our daily routine. Tim is a celebrity, a star that is looked upon by many people young and old alike on a pedestal. He is a well celebrated person in the world of football.
Now you know a little bit of this person........ Let me take you a little further by giving you a gist of his life.
Tim is an American, born in the Philippines by a missionary woman (Pamela). During Pamela's pregnancy with Tim she had an infection which led doctors to rule out that she should undergo abortion for the fetus is deeply affected and had a slim chance of surviving. Pamela kept the baby and after nine months delivered Tim to this world.
Tim Tebow, like his parents is deeply religious. He is never ashamed nor naive in telling the world his love for Jesus, in fact he is very vocal about it. Whenever his team mates score a goal, he would thank God and even drop one knee to praise him.(the act is often called tebowing). He has led his team to countless victories and in press conferences and interviews, he always thank God before anything else, a trait that is deeply rooted in Tim's heart making him truly an extra ordinary person in professing his faith
Seldom do we find a person Like Tim Tebow, with his status in life and being a star, he is never driven by wealth, power and money in fact he is very down to earth and always keep his feet on ground. He shares his blessings and setting himself as an example to others.
Tim loves the Philippines for he was born and raised here. During his childhood years, he felt the suffering of the people due to poverty thus, he had a foundation here that helps the needy. Just recently the ground breaking of a hospital in Davao City with a 30 bed capacity and he supports Uncle Dicks Home in Cotabato which houses orphans.

Gecko Mania in The Philippines for Medicine
Have you seen a Gecko before? In my case I’m living in a tropical country and when we speak of gecko, yes we do have a lot of this lizard like animal in my country Philippines, but seeing it in its natural habitat not a chance.
Recently, an outbreak of this gecko has spread throughout the internet which originated in my place not that they are infesting my country and devastating crops and has become a menace but there are people who wants to buy them live. The price is pretty much high and are as follows 300gms-60,000, 400gms-150.000, 500gms -250,000, 1kl 1,ooo,oool the figure is in Philippine peso which created a gecko-mania, and almost all the people here are looking for this elusive animal. Speculation has it that the price is even higher without the intervention of middlemen.
I’m quite alarmed of this phenomena that has actually derailed the minds of my fellow countrymen to doing their daily routine of earning income in substitute for the search of a gecko. It is very enticing for any person living in the Philippines, which is a third world country to be compelled in this kind of endeavour. I could not blame them for the figures are quite high for an ounce of a gecko. This could fuel their sustenance for a couple of months to a year. Gecko mania spreads like wild fire but the real question is? Is the trading real? for I haven't met a single soul saying that he has been paid for his catch.
As I surfed the internet for answers about the gecko-mania, I’m pretty sure that the animal is not for household pets like any domesticated animals nor for consumption (food) but for its medicinal properties.,that has cure for asthma, skin diseases and the dreaded AIDS.
The shy and timid animal is hunted for its medicinal properties. Its number is dwindling and dwindling very fast due to the destruction of its natural habitat and not to mention the latest craze that would even further diminish their number. This should be stopped and protect this animal from extinction.
