Typhoon Helen getting stronger

As predicted Typhoon Helen is gaining strength as it moves upward towards northern Luzon. It is moving at a speed of 85 kph from 65kph this morning. The Philippine government has raised storm signal number 2 to 17 areas which are directly in contact to its path.

Since the soil is saturated from previous storms and heavy rain falls, local government of the said areas are worried on landslides. Landslides have claim a handful of lives since the break of the storm Gener. Landslide prone areas have been identified and are showing imminent signs. People residing the place have been vacated while others refuse to move out for the reason that evacuation centers are crowded.

Typhoon Helen is getting stronger as it surges the topography of the country, absorbing everything in its path without remorse and with no signs of stopping.

Private sectors, N.G.O.'s, local & national governments as well as business establishments are working hand in hand to help the thousands of inhabitants who have vacated their premises, giving food, clothing and medicines that could in a way alleviate the burden that the storm has brought.
